Carol Milne Bio
We've all been grappling with a difficult economy and uncertain future. And nowhere is this as obvious
as in the facial expressions of those around us. Apprehension, tentativeness and fear abound.
Our future is dim and we're out of control.
Facing the Future is a study of facial expression in times of adversity. It is figurative glass
sculpture with a twist. It addresses feelings of being out of control in a lighthearted and humorous way.
From a wall of apprehensive faces named after character traits of endurance, to an extra-large hand
controlling transparent glass finger puppet heads, to a grouping of “Baby Boomer” grenades with baby
heads, hands and feet; there are many expressions, and much to think about.
You can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you respond to what happens to you.
