Signaletics
Gallery IMA is pleased to present the latest work by artist Dale Witherow. Dale Witherow is a mid-career artist located in the Seattle area, whose work over the last several years has undergone many transformations rooted loosely in landscape. He has since forayed through a variety of styles, media and subjects and has delved into very personal abstractions. This latest series of acrylic on canvas paintings, titled Signaletics, literally means “a description for identifying unusual markings or characteristics.” These works display his love for color, design, and hidden symbolism. He has resurrected and restructured elements of his past and the subsequent imagery of memory and used these motifs as a basis of his new work.

“I am an explorer lost in the multitude of influences of our daily lives.” Says Witherow. “I paint to discover how those influences affect me.”

Witherow received a Masters in Fine Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a retired Art Professor, who has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, and currently lives and works in the Pacific Northwest.
