FEB 2 - 25, 2017
Opening Reception:
Thursday, February 2, 6 - 8pm
This group exhibition features 2D and 3D works incorporating the subject of habitation and depictions of "home". Home can be a physical reality or a conceptual truth; an environment or a state of mind; a sanctuary or a prison (or sometimes both). Home can be a memory, a belief, or a destination. Home may be the ones you love. Home likely involves your best and worst habits. Home may be a place you wish to escape, or one you are forced to leave behind. Home has history, and may not always be comfortable. Home can be somewhere you spend your entire life, or something you spend an entire lifetime searching for. Two things are for certain: Home can mean many things to one person, or one thing to many people, and whether tangible or conceptual, home coincides with our nature and sense of identity.
