Paper abstract artists, Jeonghan Yun and Choon-Hyang Yun, have dedicated more than 30 years of their art career for these artworks. These artists have always been interested in art materials and spent an endless amount of time researching and experimenting, particularly in the ancient Korean practice of paper-making, called Hanji. Their early works show clumps of hardened sand mixed in hues, wads of braided straws, and clothes dyed in fading colors as if to remind us of twilight or a mountain with slowly disappearing summer green to barren gray-brown. It is very true that nature bears two ironical aspects: beautiful and inspiring colors and views, yet holding untamed wildlife within them.
Both artists received an MFA in Painting from Kemyung University in Daegu, South Korea, with Jeonghan receiving and additional MFA in Printmaking from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Several years ago Jeonghan and his wife Choon-Hyang decided to abandon their individual artistic path and combine their skills to create one of a kind paper tapestries that are being shown in galleries across the nation.Myeong-Sang 1835
